Overseas Filipino Workers are known as the "Modern Day Heroes" of the Philippines. Each OFW choose to land a job overseas for a promise of greener pasture and for the welfare of themselves, their co-patriots, and most especially their love ones despite of poor economic conditions from their land. 

As such, it has been difficult for them to stay away from home. Living to different types of cultures, weather conditions, nature of works are just a few factors why it’s not so easy to work abroad.  It takes a lot of sacrifices, patience, and hardworking. Some of them are taking few years or more before they can see their love ones and celebrate the togetherness. Some folks have been away from their family for 5 to 10 years and not seeing their child grows, sending money instead, for their house bills, tuition fees, and allowances. Doing two different jobs in a day to support the financial needs of their love ones suffering from illnesses and for their medications is a heart-breaking experience. Hearing their love ones’ voice on the phone is a good relief for them knowing that they are in good conditions. 


Seeing them every Christmas season is a perfect gift. It’s a season to celebrate the goodness of life despite of hardships and distance. A season to celebrate togetherness and show the love and affection that each and every one  has been deprived of, is a perfect way of reunion.
